Cruise the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge
The back channels of the mighty Savannah River are too shallow for large boats. This tour is a unique chance to travel channels soon to be made even more difficult to access. Your WiSE captain will maneuver the twists and turns, your naturalist guide showing you seldom seen sections of this 29,000 acre National Wildlife Refuge. You may choose to step ashore on 200-year old dikes to explore the eco-history of river swamp turned rice plantation turned Wildlife Refuge. Of course we'll be on the lookout for turtles, alligators, and the many migrating birds that flock to this protected expanse of wetland.
$75 per person; tour size 5 to 12 people. Meet in Port Wentworth, GA. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED.
