Beaches & Borders

On this tour of both beach and salt marsh, you’ll explore the dynamic interplay between tidal river, beach and ocean. The ultimate survival challenge lies in the transition from fresh water to salt. Life in the zone between all fresh and all salt requires interesting adaptations for animals and plants alike.

Observe the amazing array of life in a tidal creek, discover how creatures adapt to the harshness of sun and sand, and come to understand the forces that alternately build and destroy beaches and dunes. Fee:$20/person ($10 for children under 12 accompanied by an adult). Tour size 5-10 people. Meet on Tybee Island; exact location varies. Call or Click for reservations.
