Walk meandering paths through the preserved, lush maritime forest that once dominated Savannah's high ground. We'll search for signs of recent wildlife activity and discuss their lifestyles. We'll learn about plants that formed the basis for local industries. In this forest of majestic live oaks and magnolias, you'll learn some unusual adaptations of our native forest plants and animals, and find remnants of former human impact – from Native Americans, the Civil War, and beyond.
